Descriptions:

For a lot of bands, the hardest part isn’t writing great songs.

It’s learning how to write songs in the first place.

That’s something Corrupted Vision understands better than most.

The Albuquerque-based metal band traces its roots back to the late 1990s, when members Woody and Jay

first started jamming together. Like many musicians, they learned by playing the music they loved—Black

Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and whatever else they could get their hands on.

At first, it was all about learning riffs.

Then came the bigger challenge.

Learning how those riffs become songs.

Over time, Corrupted Vision moved beyond covers and began developing original material of their own. The

addition of lead guitarist Chris helped round out the band’s sound, while bassist Eddie eventually joined the

lineup and brought a fresh energy to the group.

By the time of this interview, Corrupted Vision had already built a reputation for energetic live

performances. Whether playing Albuquerque venues or traveling for shows, the band developed a

following by doing what metal bands have always done best—playing loud and leaving everything on stage.

Sometimes literally.

One of the band’s favorite stories involves a bassist launching himself off his amplifier, landing badly,

crashing to the floor, and somehow continuing to play through the song.

Just another night in metal.

What stands out most about Corrupted Vision, though, is how naturally the music seems to come together.

The band talks less about image and more about songwriting. Less about trends and more about the next

riff.

That mindset continues to push the group forward.

At the time of the interview, Corrupted Vision was already discussing plans for new recordings and looking

toward the future. For a band built on years of friendship, practice, and a shared love of heavy music, it felt

like the next logical step.

Some bands are created overnight.

1Others are built one rehearsal at a time.

Corrupted Vision belongs firmly in the second category.

way back in the day….
