Massive New Mexico Data Center Being built
Project Jupiter is a massive hyperscale AI data center campus being developed in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, within Doña Ana County. The project is led by STACK Infrastructure and BorderPlex Digital Assets, with major backing from OpenAI and Oracle as part of the broader Stargate initiative.

- Investment: The project involves a minimum initial investment of $50 billion, with a potential total of up to $165 billion over 30 years, making it the largest private investment in New Mexico’s history.
- Scope: The campus will span 1,400 acres and include four large data centers designed for AI training and cloud workloads.
- Jobs: It is projected to create approximately 2,500 construction jobs and at least 750 permanent full-time jobs (with average wages between $75,000 and $100,000) once operational.

In response to pushback, Oracle recently canceled plans for a natural gas plant in favor of partnering with Bloom Energy for fuel-cell power generation.
